The classic ‘Peter and the Wolf’ musical story is our creative focus this week. Keep posted for more information!
We are measuring lots this week. How long or heavy things are using cubes, and capacity using water. (It sometimes gets a little wet this one!) Talk about measures when you can. For example - ‘Oh that’s heavy!’ or ‘Is there more in my glass or yours?’ are all good ways of reinforcing the vocabulary.
This week our literacy work has a key skills focus. To support the children in their confidence as independent writers, we are doing activities that help them to apply their phonics. Sound talking words (saying them out loud and then writing each sound). The children have done well so far so feel free to continue with this at home. Ask them to say a simplke word (like car) and then to say each of the sounds they here. In no time they’ll be super stars at it!
